Which Programming Language is best to learn?

I would say Java. They have issues but you should really, as top contributor Colanth says, learn programming, not a programming language. Blackberry uses Java and Android currently uses Davlik, which uses Java, but that is subject to change. I won't go into them, but if you can take a course in programming with Java, that WOULD be better than learning on your own.
