Will I get food poisoning if?

If my boiling water jug was placed (next) to uncovered meat (not my meat im vegeterian by the way) but If im using my (open) jug is there a chance (bacteria) from the (uncovered) meat can spread inside my jug causing food poisoning? the meat was also not on a plate it was left to sit on the bench can my roomate who eat's it get food poisoning?
