Why do modern liberals promote the same social and economic policies of Hitler and Mussolini?

If one takes an honest study of Hitler and Mussolini's policies, you cannot deny that they were devout leftists. Modern "progressive" liberals are promoting the same policies of pre-WWII Germany and Italy. This is undeniable!
