Why are Americans proud when OVER 50% of tax revenue goes to fund military instead of helping their own?

If this happened to any other country on this planet, their citizens would overthrow their government. But it seems Americans are proud that their own government is treating them like trash by ignoring them on their ever mounting crisis and spend over half of their taxpayer's money to fund MIC. I would be humiliated that I mean nothing to my country than be proud, if I were an American. Plus, Americans are tasting their own medicine by their own kind. WOW.
