Surrogacy in the Ukraine? ?

It's not unheard of for couples in the United States to engage the services of a "surrogate mother" if they cannot have children themselves. This arrangement is usually used because the wife cannot carry a child on her own. Therefore, what is often done is the husband's sperm cell fertilizes the wife's egg cell. The fertilized ovum (embryo) is then implanted in the surrogate, who essentially acts as an incubation unit. An American couple that wants the services of a surrogate will no doubt use an American one if they can, but they will use a foreign surrogate if necessary. And all things considered, it's probably easier to get an American to the Ukraine than to get a Ukrainian to the US.
