Converting to through hull exhaust?

What does it cost to convert a newer boat (1995-present) to through hull exhaust. I would like the ones that you are able to control the noise level, either quiet running or loud. I would take it to a marine shop. I'm a do it yourselfer, but I don't trust myself cutting holes in my boat. Just looking for a ballpark figure. Thanks
