Can i use hairspray as a fixative??????

Hey! Well i used lots of pastels and some charcoal on my page, and i forogt that i ran out of fixative the other day :O and well i sorta need to spray it now! People say my work will go yellow and rot away if i use hairspray? If so, how long will it take to go yellow and rot? I need to keep this art for maybe 2 years!
